Job Description

USER INTERFACE DESIGNER - NORTH AMERICAN BANCARD - Troy, MI

Our User Interface Designer will be responsible for designing mobile applications, customer portals, reporting dashboards, business management tools, and more. Their contributions will span across multiple platforms, devices and operating systems.

 

What Else You Will Be Doing:

  • Design consistent user interface designs with defined style documentation based on user experience best practices and business requirements for web and mobile platforms.
  • Design, own, and update consistent UI systems with defined style documentation.
  • Participate heavily in UX strategy sessions and wireframing activities.
  • Integrate user interface updates into existing design systems.
  • Collaborate with business analysts to contribute to and design from established business requirements.
  • Work with developers to build and refine polished products and experiences.
  • Act as an approval layer in the QA processes for design and user experience reviews.
  • Create interactive prototypes and mock-ups.
  • Create, manipulate, and update images.
  • Participate in the researching of user requirements and collaborating on the user experience design with the product team.
  • Contribute and/or write UX copy and user-centered copy.
  • Be a brand expert for various products.
  • Responsible for final look and feel of the product.
  • Responsible for the final assets and designs for the user interface (UI) and to deliver these assets as needed to developers for implementation.

Job Requirements

What We Need From You:

  • Bachelor's degree in one of the following areas:
    • Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Cognitive Science, Psychology, Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design, Computer Science.
  • Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Must be both self-motivated and experienced working with developers.
  • Must be able to work both individually and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Candidate must be experienced in responsive web design concepts and constraints as well as iOS and Android mobile design.
  • Understand iterative development methodologies, including SCRUM and Agile.
  • Expert understanding of digital design principles and keep on top of upcoming trends in web and mobile design.
  • Experience in designing complete mobile and web products from concept to development completion.
  • Innovation, creativity, design, and analysis skills are required.
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Sketch, and Invision.

 

How To Be An All Star:

  • Proficiency in Jira, Adobe After Effects.
  • Experience in financial industries.
  • Masters Degree in one of the following areas:
    • Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Cognitive Science, Psychology, Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design, Computer Science.
  • Certification in Human Factors.
