This Benefits Specialist will be primary in administering group benefit programs for our corporate and affiliated entities of North American Bancard. You will provide support and advise employees every day regarding benefits issues, procedures and the delivery of our programs.

Here's what you will do:

  • Administer and maintain NAB’s Benefit Programs (Health and Wellness, Leave Administration, Well-Being Program, Tuition Reimbursement, etc.)
  • Be a point of contact for benefits questions - responding timely and ensuring equitable and courteous resolution
  • Collaborate with NAB’s benefits broker, design and deliver materials for open enrollment and new hires
  • Maintain plan documents and summary plan descriptions to lead compliance with regulatory mandates and legislation (ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, IRS and DOL) and ensure all legally required plan notices are distributed timely and accurately
  • Lead and gather information to support plan audits
  • Stay current with Federal and State guidelines and updating policies as necessary
  • Be responsible for the processing of monthly carrier billings and the preparation of payment for administrative fees including bill reconciliation and tracking.
  • Assess benefit plan trends, investigate new programs, improve existing programs and assess administrative costs and recommend cost containment strategies
  • 401(k) plan administration – manage plans eligibility, enrollment, plan payments, distributions, audits/testing and 5500 filings
  • Continue to promote our health and wellness program and activities

 

Job Requirements



Here's what we need from you:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of three years of solid experience administering employee benefits programs
  • HRIS experience including report generation of ad hoc reports
  • Strong technical skills with the ability to utilize spreadsheets, word processing and presentation tools
  • Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Validated ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of plan designs and benefit contract language

 CEBS certification is a plus (Certified Employee Benefits Specialist).
