Job Summary:

The Vice President of Compliance Management for North American Bancard (NAB) is responsible for the dissemination of information from regulatory and industry sources for updates, compliance, and strategic partner relationships, along with managing third party payment facilitators and independent sales organizations (ISOs).

The role is responsible for overseeing the management of all merchant-facing compliance programs such as PCI and IRS 6050W Reporting, including the ongoing responsibility of overseeing staff involved with the aforementioned programs, project improvement efforts, error/debugging initiatives, and the overall compliance rate of NAB’s merchant portfolios.



Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and manage compliance programs and policies derived from applicable rules and regulations, and influence the payment networks to ensure rule design and application is consistent with NAB and client needs.
  • Provide expert advice and counsel to business leadership, and contribute to the development, approval and application of an appropriate risk appetite for each segment.
  • Ensure appropriate governance and oversight procedures are in place.
  • Manage all strategic partner programs, including Payment Facilitator, Retail and Wholesale ISO programs, and provide feedback and recommendations.
  • Serve as primary leadership liaison between Operations and Sales teams for all strategic partnerships.
  • Coordinate department activities for research, review, and communication of state/federal laws, regulation changes, and Card Brand.
  • Provide recommendations and ensure distribution of documentation to maintain compliance.
  • Attend industry events associated with Card Brand or Regulatory Compliance, and monitor trends utilizing news sources such as newsletters and industry/governmental informational changes.
  • Coordinate the activities of the department responsible for company merchant-facing compliance programs, including Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS), Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) matching.
  • Manage a team responsible for the creation, management and dissemination of communication bulletins to internal and external partners.
  • Facilitate projects and initiatives, and maintain issues log to ensure a timely response from internal and external parties involving Card Brand and partner communication updates.
  • Manage activities regarding Card Brand violations, including compromised events and case management.




Job Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum (10) years’ payment compliance and/or strategic relationship experience.
  • Minimum (5) years’ management experience.
  • Detailed knowledge of state, federal, Internal Revenue Service, and Card Brand regulatory requirements.
  • Post graduate degree preferred.
  • Payment processing industry experience preferred.

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills, including the ability to synthesize the story for different audiences, including executives.
  • Strong sense of prioritization and execution against critical deliverables in a fast-paced environment, coupled with a sense of personal ownership for key project/issue resolution.
  • Proven ability to build strong, cohesive partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, and strong negotiation and influencing skills to manage client groups internally and externally.
  • Strategic ability to build strong relationships with senior leaders in a complex environment.
  • A creative and forward thinker who understands the bottom line requirements of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage change.
